Susan Barth is a singer songwriter somewhere between Tanya Donnelley and Ani DiFranco with a little Shawn Colvin added in for good measure.

The tunes alternate from pop/rock of "Perfect Storm" to the beatlesque ballad "Sundays" and showcase her fine vocal style and tone. The band dynamically conquers each tune with ease and grace, creating a wonderful listening experience for even the most fickle and cynical music critic.

1. Do you want to get on TV? I need bands/solo artists for ongoing video series: "Rick's Rising Stars" which airs on Verizon Fios Channel 1 News - My Long Island TV (check out past shows by searching Rick Eberle at www.mylitv.com)

Shows usually happen on select Thursday nights at VIBE LOUNGE in Rockville Centre, with the next one happening Thursday June 3rd (I still need one band for this night BTW) and include an interview with each band and videotaping of your live performance which is put together as a segment for on air and on the web coverage.

*ALSO, we are looking for REGGAE and PARTY type bands for Friday nights at Vibe Lounge as well - let me know if you are interested in this instead/as well.

Long Island Vinyl Exchange has been dubbed "the rebirth of the American record shop" and with over 250,000 records and titles available for viewing under one roof including music from the 1800’s to new vinyl and CD releases from today, it’s easy to see why.

"It has always been my opinion that live music in a record store is something that is timeless; a tried and true tradition if you will." remarked John DeSimone, Owner of L.I.V.E and a lifelong musician himself.

DJ Lady D has been a fixture of the New York City entertainment circuit for many years, and as a female DJ has been an exception in the male dominated genre of club mixing. She began spinning records at community centers and house parties back in 1991, providing her with an opportunity to land her first professional gig at Sweetwater’s Night Club. This led to college radio slots at Fordham University in the Bronx and Yale University in Connecticut. ABOUT MICHELLE RAITZIN
Michelle Raitzin is an 18 year old rising teen pop sensation from Long Island, New York, with the vocal range of Christina Aguilera, Celine Dion & Mariah Carey coupled with the stage presence and pop sensibility of Rihanna, Katy Perry and Beyonce.

Merrick, NY (March 26, 2010) In early 2005, inspired by tight reggae rhythm sections & thrashing punk bands, three Hofstra University graduates started what one writer has called "The East Coast answer to Sublime"; The RBC's.

Taking a DIY approach, Andrew, John, & Mike evolved The RBC into the best live reggae, dub, & punk experience on Long Island.

PATCHOGUE THEATRE TO HOST HAITI RELIEF EVENT ON JANUARY 28th

Special "Live In The Lobby" Concert Will Raise Money For The Red Cross

In response to the growing need for relief after the devastating earthquake in Haiti, members of the Patchogue Theatre Live in the Lobby "family" have mobilized to present a special concert to raise money in support of the humanitarian efforts of the American Red Cross. The concert will be held on Thursday, January 28th at 7:30 pm in the lobby of the Patchogue Theatre for the Performing Arts and feature popular local performers, including the Michael Jazz Trio, The Loan Sharks, Miles To Dayton, The Sun Gets Down, Iridesense and more. The organizers also plan to have drawings for donated artwork from the Patchogue Arts Council and gift certificates from local restaurants and shops in the Patchogue area. The event came to life through the efforts of Theatre board member Christopher Capobianco, Bill Herman of Paradiddle Records, Andrew Steeley of WEHM-FM radio and John Govia of 101.7 “The Beach” radio. "We all felt that there was something we could do, so we started working the phones," said Capobianco. His first call was to Patchogue Village Trustee, Jack Krieger who serves as Liaison to the Theatre. Trustee Krieger helped to secure partial funding for expenses through a sponsorship pledge from the Patchogue First community organization of which he is a member. "I was happy to help get the ball rolling, but we could use a few more sponsors to cover the costs of producing the show. I'm asking for $200 more, and then 100% of what we bring in on the night of the show will go to the Red Cross." Trustee Krieger also spoke with Patchogue resident Hamilton Merilus, a native of Haiti who described the plight of family and friends who have suffered in the aftermath of the quake. Mr. Merilus, who is already working with the Red Cross in Medford to raise funds, was enthusiastic about participating in the Live In The Lobby event. "I think we can all make a difference if we work together and I thank the Patchogue Theatre and the Patchogue community for helping the Haitian people in their moment of misery and sadness," he said. Mr. Merilus will be at the event to speak and plans to introduce some Haitian musicians who will perform during the evening.

According to Mr. Capobianco, the Haiti Relief event will be run like a regular Live In The Lobby with limited capacity for about 100 people, but he hopes that more people come by to drop off their donations. "We're keeping the admission price at our usual $10 a person, but will encourage people to reach deeper into their pockets and donate as much as they can afford." The Theatre will also be accepting donations by check only (made out to the American Red Cross) at the Box Office everyday from 12 noon to 6pm or you can mail them to the Patchogue Theatre, Box 2400, Patchogue, NY 11772. Cash donations will be accepted the night of the show as well as checks. The Patchogue Theatre for The Performing Arts is located 71 East Main Street in the heart of Patchogue Village.

Her unique and special talent was recognized early in life and it has developed into the sophisticated, hip vocalist, composer, and lyricist she is today. She came onto the jazz scene in the early 80’s, fresh out of Fairleigh Dickinson University with a degree in Music Education where her father, musician/conductor Louis Hooker, was a distinguished member of the faculty and chairman of the Fine Arts Department. Lauren continued post-graduate work in jazz theory with pianist Kenny Barron at Rutgers University, jazz voice with Sheila Jordan at the Manhattan School of Music and private studies in jazz piano with Keith McDonald and vocal coach Paul Gallagher. She has been featured in many major venues in the New York metropolitan area including Sweetwaters, the West End Cafe, 55 Bar, Trumpets, Lounge Zen, the Angry Squire, as well as the Dewar’s and Greenwich Village Jazz Festivals and continues to perform regularly in regional cafes and restaurants.

One of the highlights of Lauren’s career occurred in 1989 when she recorded with legendary pianist/composer Mal Waldron, singing her original lyrics set to Mal’s composition, "The Seagulls of Kristiansund." Lauren’s composition, "Choices," was premiered in 1992 at the Business and Professional Women’s 78th National Convention in Minneapolis. Her show, "Jazz Expressions", a multi-media experience combining original music, dance, poetry and photography was premiered in 1997 at New Jersey’s Puffin Cultural Forum with bassist Calvin Hill and pianist Tomoko Ohno. She has appeared on a variety of television shows such as "Broadway to Business," "For Arts Sake," and "Life of Music." and has performed or recorded with many noted musicians including Michael Cochrane, Allen Farnham, Vic Juris, Rufus Reid, Warren Smith, Tim Horner, Bill Moring and Reggie Workman, to name a few.

Formerly a music teacher at the acclaimed Bank Street School for Children in Manhattan, the Montessori Children’s House in Morristown and the Neighborhood School in Manhattan, she is currently developing the Music Program at The Hamilton Park Montessori School in Jersey City and teaches privately in her home in Teaneck.

One of the co-founders of the former, award winning Teaneck Cultural Arts Coalition: "bringing people together by celebrating cultural diversity through the arts", Lauren presently sits on the Advisory Board for the Puffin Cultural Forum, a project of the Puffin Foundation, Ltd., and serves as the Production Manager and Grants Coordinator for the Teaneck Community Chorus.

Dominick Lives the Rock N Roll Cliche, then Rises as a Phoenix from the Ashes

Babylon, NY (December 3, 2009) Dominick the artist has been boldly described by one writer as having “the songwriting ability of the Beatles and the performance ability of Elvis” but once upon a time his demons overcame his dream. Now clean, older and wiser he is back with a drive to finish what he started – and the songs to back it up.

Over the first 5 years of his career, Dominick spread his talent across the globe, playing shows in various locales opening for artists such as Omarion, Gin Blossoms, Twisted Sister, Michael Bolton, Jeff Timmons 98 Degrees, O-Town, Jay Z, Rick Derringer, Tiffany, Alicia Keys, Damon Dash and Cheap Trick to name a few. In his own words, Dominick also had a very big dream come true when he was asked to open up for Jordan Knight from the New Kids on The Block.

When Dominick was asked to play at a New York artist ball hosted by Tony Danza, and Saturday Night Live (SNL) asked Dominick to play at their anniversary taping, the man certainly seemed to have arrived. A few months later, he played the most notable concert of his young career at Universal Studios alongside acts like The Allman Brothers and Eddie Money - where he was the only person not signed to a label, with no hit songs, and it did not matter, his talent shone through. This all culminated in a songwriting deal with BMI, and the sky was the limit.

But after his manager, Rock N Roll Hall of Famer “” from The Young Rascals, had the ever elusive record deal in his grasp, when the time came for his lifetime goal to be put into action, that exact night while the band and the label executives were waiting for him to arrive to the offices, his entire world crashed and what was worked so hard for was destroyed in one fail swoop.

“I never made it to the meeting because I was arrested and thrown in jail for buying heroin in the Bronx on the way to NYC - and it was over, immediately, just like that”. He said. “No spin could hide the fact that I needed help, and that the deal was dead.”

His peers saw how he had run his life into the ground, and turned their back, feeling that his chance had come and gone. “Crushed is not close enough to how bad I was. It hurt because one mistake was all it took for everyone to leave and never look back. People who I stood by through thick and thin treated me like I was a burden to know”.

Alone, he had to go into a detox to help the withdrawals for five days and in his own words “the day I stepped out I never touched again. The music and what it meant to me was all that mattered. The music was still true and that was all I needed”.

He is now in a hurry to prove to himself and his fans how great he still can be “I need not prove myself to anyone else anymore.” Dominick said. “I stared down a the demon of drugs and came out the other side of the tunnel”.

Melville, NY (December 1, 2009) On Saturday December 12th at 2pm, Sephora and Toys for Tots present the Petrel Sisters at the Sephora location inside the Walt Whitman Mall on Route 110 in Melville, NY.

Petrel, the fast rising band of three sisters from Long Island NY will perform an exclusive intimate acoustic set of their well traveled and highly regarded original material and will also be having a meet and greet signing session immediately following the performance.

This event is a drop off point for the Toys for Tots program and all in attendance are encouraged to participate to help a needy child in this Holiday season.

FUN FACT: The trio recently signed with Idolroc/Maloof Music. A chance viewing of a News 12 newscast featuring Petrel by Idolroc executives � who also have some Long Island roots - was the initial catalyst for the deal!

ABOUT PETREL
Jessica (vocals), Rebekah (drums and keyboards), and Destiny (guitar) create a hook laden Pop/Rock attack which puts them squarely between Sheryl Crowe, P!nk, Katy Perry and acts like Miley Cyrus, Demi Lovato and Miranda Cosgrove on your radar, and hopefully in your hearts.

In the summer of 2007, Petrel completed a 17-city national tour as the opening act for the popular Razor & Tie CD Series "Kids Bop", where the sisters performed at such venues as The House of Blues in Chicago, UCLA Royce Hall in California, and Meadowbrook US Cellular Pavilion in Gilford, NH. Next stop for the group was Downtown Disneyland in Anaheim, CA for the �Downtown Disney’s Indie Fest USA 2008�, where the girls hobnobbed with other performers such as Lucy Walsh & Savvy and Mandy from Radio Disney.

This has been a whirlwind ride of a year for Petrel, who were also recently covered in Newsday and in the magazines Justine and QuizFest/Astrogirl and had their songs placed into rotation at AOL Radio SHOUTcast, as well. This past summer, proving their worldwide meddle and commitment to charity work, Petrel worked at many villages in Mexico helping dole out food to several thousand needy children and performing a benefit concert for over three thousand Mexican music aficionados. In February of 2008, the girls went to Port au Prince, Haiti to participate in a charity missions outreach and perform their music in front of over forty thousand Haitian music lovers. They also ventured to Mexico on December 8th 2008, handing out scores of clothes and free toys to needy children at a few different Mexican villages. Currently performing and giving interviews in support of their debut EP, featuring the hit "All Right", the sisters are gearing up for bigger and better in 2010; more charity work for inner city kids, more writing and recording, more performing, and most of all more ambition than ever to reach their ultimate goal of superstardom. Huntington, NY (October 22, 2009) What do Billy Joel, John Mayer, Bruce Springsteen, Marc Anthony, Jennifer Lopez, Gloria Estefan, Stevie Wonder, Ray Charles, Jessica Simpson and The Blues Brothers have in common? The answer: members of Long Island's own Funk Filharmonik have supported them all at some point over the past 25 years, either in the studio for top 10 hits or on stage at events ranging from outdoor festivals to world class concert halls - even to the White House Lawn!

On Friday November 27th at 8pm, join this venerable who's who of internationally renowned funk players as they present their Funksgiving celebration for the 24th straight year, this time taking place at what is being billed as Club Funk; located at the Elks Club at 195 Main Street (RT 25A), Huntington Village NY 11743 1-888-902-3336. This show also marks a first for the band; the release of their debut CD "Everybody Get Down" which is available at cdbaby and itunes now.

"We have been blessed to enjoy the careers we have had as individuals, but I feel that with the release of our first album - which we produced and created ourselves - that this collection of players is primed to be recognized among the very best in the world at what we do as a band, too" remarked Ozzie Melendez, Musical Director, Trombone Player and Co-Leader.

There will be a raffle segment where contestants can win many great prizes including a 42" Flat Screen TV. Proceeds from these drawings will benefit the International Myeloma Foundation; the raffle is hosted by Multiple Musicians Against Multiple Myeloma, of which Drummer and Co-Leader Lee Finkelstein is a member.

NY’s Own MMA Fight Club Presents Their 5th Installment on Friday November 6th at Marriott Hotel and Conference Center

Uniondale, NY (October 13, 2009) MMA Fight Club founder John McFeeley got tired of hearing that he’s "too old" and that he "hasn’t been training at the gym long enough for the right to spar".

He knew that this elitist attitude - which sometimes permeates the professional fighting realm - was not all encompassing and that there were others like him out there unaffiliated with a big Gym and/or unbelted looking for a good venue to fight in.

That’s why he started NY Fight Club (now MMA Fight Club) over 2 years ago, and it’s been all uphill since then; with features on WPIX TV, in the LI Pulse Magazine and online at Newsday’s Explore LI helping to increase the buzz and build the brand, the last two fights have completely sold out.

"MMA Fight Club caters to any tough guy that wants to get in the ring. This is what truly sets our shows apart from other so called amateur MMA fighting events that are really just showcases for the big dojos who are trying to promote a handful of their own fighters. At MMA Fight Club, any bar brawler who is willing to get into shape can fight!" McFeeley said.

In addition to taking this grass roots approach, McFeeley and his team always have a number of the top fighters in the area on their card. This time, for MMA Fight Club 5 on Friday Nov 6, they are making it even more interesting: the main event features 2 of the toughest women in the world - Maria Didio from Combat Mixed Martial Arts in Massapequa, who is fresh of her gold medal victory this summer in the Judo World Championships, against Krista Abidin, who is the reigning NAGA jiu-jitsu champion - in a submission grappling match.

The Co-main event is a Muay Thai fight between renowned local fighters John Christ and Scott Millan. There are 15 fights in all, including Kickboxing, Muay Thai, San Da and submission grappling. Need another fun fact to make this an event to remember? There is even a mother and son match scheduled - not against each other, but on the same card!! Krista Abido’s 16 year old son Anthony, of Bellmore is 16 and will be in one of the early undercard bouts.

Additionally, and equally important, McFeeley is putting out a casting call to anyone who thinks they have what is takes to be on a future MMA Fight Club Card. "We especially like former wrestlers who are willing to learn a some stand up and then fight a San Da match."

Deer Park, NY (September 30, 2009) Originally from Long Island, New York, Musician Richy Petrello - an active voting member of The Recording Academy New York Chapter ("the Grammy's") and a past winner of the Hope For Children Humanitarian Award who also holds an honorary doctorate in music management - has played with the likes of Brian Setzer and The Stray Cats, Billy Joel, Paul Simon, Don Henley , Carly Simon, Reba Macintyre, Dion, Foreigner, The Cars, Steve Gad, Richard Tee, Steve Vai and many others and has produced, wrote and/or directed events for the Dallas Cowboy Thanksgiving Halftime Show, the Monday Night Football Halftime Show, ABC, ESPN, Back at the Ranch among others - lived the cliché of sex, drugs and rock and roll for many years; getting caught up in the flow and the "perks" that came with living the rock star life.

Then, as if by some divine intervention, he met a good woman and became tired of living a selfish life in the fast lane. He turned away from music for a while, believing it was the reason he fell so hard. But after a short time he realized music was not the key to his downfall, but instead was the thing that would ultimately save him. Since that fateful moment of clarity, he has successfully used music to reach out to others - helping them not fall into the same "trap" he fell into, and to bring joy to people across the globe.
Today, this former rock star is on top of the world - as a father who instilled music and generosity into his three daughters who make up the band Petrel. Ages 17-23, the girls offer a pop sound that is refreshing and unique. These young "Pop humanitarians" bring their uplifting brand of music to the far reaches of the world with the hope of touching those who have been underserved and ignored.

With this ethos in mind, the family has spent the past several years travelling to remote villages in Haiti, Jamaica, Cuba and Mexico, to the Mayan Jungle, to orphanages in India, China, Belize, Guatemala, to correctional facilities like Rikers Island and Arthur Kill on Staten Island and to places such as the Metro Church "Childrens Outreach'' in Bushwick, Brooklyn; reaching out to the community, preparing food, playing with the kids, and teaching them songs. At the end of each week in the cities they visit, the team puts on a concert which is looked upon as an event to remember for a lifetime for these villagers who have never been privy top such a display before and who would not be lucky enough to enjoy such an event under regular circumstances without the help of Richy Petrello. Still based in Long Island, this is truly a modern Partridge Family! Spreading positive vibes and a message of hope to millions through music, the only way they know how.

The Sounds of Summer – Music of the Long Island Maritime Museum’s 18th Annual Seafood, Craft and Music Festival August 29th & 30th, 2009

West Sayville, NY (August 19, 2009) The Long Island Maritime Museum’s Annual Seafood Festival, to be held this year on Saturday, August 29 and Sunday, August 30, 2009 is one of the summer’s hottest events. Last year, over 18,000 people came through the gates of the festival, which combines arts and crafts, education and live entertainment with some of the Island’s best seafood. It is held at the Museum’s waterfront park adjacent to the West Sayville Golf Course at the foot of West Avenue in West Sayville.
Music has become a major focal point of this festival and this year is no exception. There will be an eclectic mix of music, sure to appeal to a broad audience. The festival is proud to announce our best music line up yet.
Saturday’s Main Stage line up, hosted by 94.3 WMJC (Phathead and Malibu Sue), will feature music from:
Verical Horizon – Matt Scannell - the band shot to fame in the late 90s with hits such as, “You’re a God” and “Everything You Want”. Now touring in support of their new album, “Burning the Days.”Kevin Griffin from Better than Ezra - best known for songs such as “Good” and “King of New Orleans”. Touring and supporting their new release, “Paper Empire” on MRI/Megaforce Records.Antigone Rising- Long Island native’s and national touring rock band who have shared the stage with The Rolling Stones, Joan Jett and Aerosmith to name a few.Chris Barron & The Time Bandits –the lead singer of the Spin Doctors newest project.Donna Jean Godchaux Band – with Jeff Mattson. Donna Jean Godchaux was a vocalist with the Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia Band.Ryan Star – a Long Island native who has made a name from himself by touring extensively, most recently with American Idol winner David Cook and now Collective Soul in support of his upcoming album, “11:59”.John Hampson – lead singer of famous Long Island based band Nine Days and now a solo artist in his own right.
Sunday’s Main Stage line up, hosted by 102.3 WBAB (Fingers) and 106.1 WBLI, will feature music from:
Movin’ Out Band – featuring members of Billy Joe’s band: Tommy Byrnes, Mark Rivera, Chuck Burgi, Andy Cinchon and Wade Preston, the original Piano Man from the Broadway show, Movin’ Out. The Funk Filharmonik – a legendary twelve piece super group from our Tri-State Area. Randy Jackson of Zebra- lead singer of the legendary power trio from Long Island.Four on the Floor –an all-star tribute to Freddy Frogs with members of Rockats, Radio 4, Billy Joel’s band and more. Holly Brook – an up and coming singer/songwriter who famously sings the hook on the Fort Minor song, “Where’d You Go”; as well as having most recently worked with Duncan Sheik. Our Sea Shanty stage will host music on both Saturday & Sunday from:Inishowen Music – a four piece maritime music group from the headwaters of the Chesapeake Bay. Geoff Kaufman – solo folk and maritime music singer from Mystic Seaport, Connecticut.Them East Port Oyster Boys – duo who provide fun entertainment and offer a unique way to "tour" their hometown Historic Annapolis and the Chesapeake Bay region through their songs.
Bring your family and friends, (no pets will be allowed) this year’s event promises to be full of fun and excitement for all. Gates will open at 10:00 am and close at 6:00 pm. The food vendors will remain open until 6:00 pm and the music will continue until 7:00 pm both days. Visitors to the Festival will be able to take advantage of the new expanded off-site parking and the shuttle service from several locations. On-line advanced ticket sales will be available on the Long Island Maritime Museum website www.limaritime.org. Admission to the Festival is $5.00, which goes directly to support the Museum’s operations. Children 5 and under are free. The Seafood Festival is the largest single fundraising event for the Long Island Maritime Museum in West Sayville. Patchogue, NY (June 29, 2009) Jared Feldman, President of Music School Inc, announced today that Music School Inc has partnered up with Tutor Time to offer their widely successful "Rock N Tots" program to enrolled students and will be holding a Press Conference on Tuesday June 30th at 11am at their East Patchogue location, at 655 East Main Street.
Tutor Time, through the E.O.C. of Suffolk, received a Community Service Block Grant to subsidize the Rock N Tots program. This grant also enabled Tutor Time to purchase musical instruments and to pay for a music instructor to come once a week for 3 hours. The program educates and exposes the children in different cultural, genres of music, and music appreciation. The children experience different musical instruments and are introduced to the many ways music is made.
Carla Friend is the lead teacher for the program. "The children look forward to Carla’s visits and the parents have expressed their astonishment on how their children are growing and learning. Many children have enhanced their social and language skills through this program" said Carol Kelly, Director of Tutor Time Patchogue.
Currently they have 116 enrolled in the music program ages 2 to 5; a team of Music School Inc’s music education specialists developed this Rock N Tots program. The program is run by the Suffolk County EOC. The Grant money came from the state.
Music School Inc is the premier private music lesson service on Long Island. They provide in-home, in studio, one-on-one, group and private lessons. Music School Inc offers enjoyable and educational lessons that are available for children and adults. The school offers many different programs and a diverse faculty, as well. "Our relationship with Tutor Time is an example of another great enhancement to the programs we offer" said Jared Feldman, President of Music School Inc.
Music School Inc has an office in Mineola which serves as the company’s corporate headquarters, as well as a piano studio, while the company establishes an additional location in Carle Place, set to open in the Fall of 2009. Music School Inc has also made news recently with their widely successful "Drum Fight" and "Unsigned Band Festival" series at The Crazy Donkey in Farmingdale, and through their partnership with the Drums and Disabilities Program. The band has already achieved milestones in the music business as a band that most teenagers only dream of; signing with Creative Artists Agency, playing several headlining tours, signing with Jason Morey - manager of Miley Cyrus (as co-management with Sue Baran, the mother of lead singer CJ Baran), being dubbed the "new fab four" by Newsday, being featured in the NY Times and in magazines such as Popstar, J-14, M*Teen, Tiger Beat/Bop and Bleech, and performing at the Z100 Zootopia Preshow at the Izod Center, on MTV's TRL, and selling out NY's Irving Plaza, Nokia Theatre and The Blender Theatre at Gramercy.

On Thursday November 27th, at The Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade, Long Island's Push Play made history - a still unsigned act from Long Island, New York standing tall with giants such as Miley Cyrus, The Jonas Brothers, the cast of Broadway shows and even The Rockettes - as they performed their soon to be hit tune "Cover Girl" for millions on NBC-TV and for the thousands in attendance.

As part of their continuing Push Play for Purpose effort, (which has already led to tens of thousands of dollars in donations to charitable organizations) after performing at the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade just days before on the Hess "Bridge to the Future" Float, Push Play spent Saturday November 29th 2008 giving out 1000 Push Play sweatshirts to the homeless in Manhattan.
